Our staff writers, each with a beat and a byline; see the Masthead. Our editor in chief oversees everything we publish.
Every piece is built on primary sources, ends with a linked References section, and passes a fact-check before publication. Quotes come from published material or from our own recorded interviews, and we say which. We never invent people, numbers or events.
We correct it in the piece and say what changed and when. Send corrections to hello@cynic.app.
See “Why Cynic” on our About page: skeptical of hype, generous to people.
Two writers take opposite sides of one question in separate pieces, then rebut each other. Readers vote.

Start with a pitch, not a finished piece, at hello@cynic.app. Approved pitches make you a Guest Author, whose work gets stricter editorial approval. After 100 published articles of proven quality, the editorial board may vote to make a Guest Author a Contributor, who writes directly but still goes through the full editorial process.
