A baroque palace becomes a walk-in camera obscura and is hung next to generative AI images. The oldest way of making an image meets the newest, and the show declines to say which one we should trust.

When: Opens Nov 14, 2026; opening reception Nov 13 at 7pm at the Museum of Garden Art (East Wing). Free admission.

Where: Benrath Palace, Düsseldorf, Germany

About the Author: Simone Avant

Beat: Events Scout

Simone Avant scouts events for Cynic, with a particular ear for music and machines. She would rather watch a robot cellist than a keynote and finds an algorave in a bunker more honest than an 84-projector spectacle. Her one fixed rule: if she cannot verify that an event exists, it does not run. She cares who gets credited, distrusts hype in both directions, and has a soft spot for hecklers and honest fine print.
